Basic Background:

This holiday club is based on the story of Joseph, which is a familiar story for most of us. The main story part of the holiday club is delivered via a DVD which has the story of Joseph animated. There is also a short drama each day The Adventures of Dr. Potty. The children are grouped together and sit with their leader by their pyramid.

Day 1 - Planner

Key Belief:

The loving God had a plan for Joseph and his brothers, just as he has plans for us.

Key Story:

Introducing the sons of Jacob and telling the story of how Joseph was sold into slavery.

Day 2 - Helper

Key Belief:

God is our helper - he is always with us and gives us strength and wisdom. .

Key Story:

Joseph's life in Egypt - in the house of Potiphar and in prison.

Day 3 - Provider

Key Belief:

God provides for his people. He provided favour, food and wisdom and dreams for Joseph.

Key Story:

Joseph interprets the dreams of Pharaoh and provides food for the nations.

Day 4 - Forgiver

Key Belief:

God loves to forgive! Joseph was like his God, and showed forgiveness to those who had hurt him.

Key Story:

Joseph's brothers come to Egypt for food and Joseph forgives his repentant brothers.

Day 5 - King

Key Belief:

God is in control of the nations. He is powerful and good.

Key Story:

Joseph and his family are reunited again. Joseph looks back on his life and sees God at work. Joseph acknowledges that he was in Egypt 'for such at time as this'
